An unlicensed Buckhead pharmacist has been arrested for allegedly dispensing hundreds of medications at a Cobb County senior home.

Nathan Christopher Price was booked into Cobb jail on four felony counts of practicing medicine without a license Wednesday, records show.

Georgia Drugs and Narcotics Agency officer wrote in a warrant that Price gave out the medications on Dec. 12 and Dec. 14 at 2000 East-West Connector location.

The only business registered to that Austell address is Presbyterian Village, a senior home, which previously denied that Price had worked there.

Price was unemployed at the time of his arrest, according to his jail booking sheet.

The GDNA officer wrote in the warrant that Price was a “flight risk” because he had posted to Facebook on Dec. 18 that he “would be departing for Laos in three weeks. (Price) also made statements to pharmacy staff about plans to start a pharmacy in Laos.”

Price was arrested 10:30 a.m. near Meridian Buckhead, the high-rise where he lived near the Buckhead MARTA station.

Ed Jarrett, Meridian’s general manager, told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Wednesday that Price had been living there 14 years.

“He was just a difficult fellow,” Jarrett said, declining to explain further.

Jarrett said it’s his understanding that Price had been sleeping in a stairwell of the Buckhead Station shopping center, which shares a parking lot with Meridian, to avoid police.

The GDNA filed the warrant for Price’s arrest on Dec. 22.

The Cobb sheriff’s office nor GDNA were immediately available for comment Wednesday.

Price was issued a pharmacist license in July 2000, according to the Georgia Department of Community Health records.

The Georgia State Board of Pharmacy accepted Price’s surrender of his license on Nov. 8. No reason was given.

His next court date was not listed online.
