Two Atlantans make Inc.’s ‘18 inspiring women to watch in 2018’ list

On a business industry magazine's list of 18 inspiring women to watch in 2018, Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms made the top spot.

Inc. noted that Bottoms beat multiple candidates in a “hard-fought race” to become mayor.

"Keisha is a public school educated leader who has made a reputation for herself as someone who isn't afraid to speak up and speak out," Inc wrote. "For example, earlier in her career on the Atlanta city council, she spoke out against a police billboard campaign that urged people, 'Don't run.'"

Another metro Atlantan, Robin Bienfait, made the sixth spot. Bienfait is the founder of business accelerator Atlanta Tech Park and a partner at Valor Ventures.

“Her engineering drive and talent brought her to a global career in enterprise technology, including roles such as CIO at Blackberry, senior VP at AT&T, and chief enterprise innovation officer at Samsung,” Inc. said.

Last month, Atlanta email marketing company MailChimp was named the 2017 Company of the Year by Inc.
