IHOP in DeKalb rechecked after ‘numerous’ insects found

A year ago, the IHOP in Lithonia had a score of 90.

A DeKalb County IHOP restaurant failed its recent inspection with a variety of issues.

IHOP, located at 3020 Panola Road, Lithonia, received a 62 on Aug. 9, according to the inspector's report. Violations included "numerous" flies, "numerous" dead insects on a window sill and a mold-like substance in a sink.

The manager told Channel 2 Action News the failing health inspection came on a bad day when some equipment was gone and a better score is expected next time.

Staff is undergoing training.

Restaurants that fail are typically rechecked within 10 business days.
