The Henry County Board of Commissioners awarded a contract to ADFS, LLC to provide waste wood grinding services for the Henry County Recycling Center.
The deal will cost the county $3.40 to grind the wood waste and $5.70 per cubic yard for removing it. The Recycling Center receives a large amount of yard waste (limbs, stumps, brush) from citizens daily, according to a staff report, and the accumulated waste wood needs to be ground and removed from the site. According to county staff, a contract allows quick access without the necessity of bidding each time the yard debris area is full, and it guarantees prices will remain firm for the contract period.
Staff recommended a one-year contract with no fixed quantities and two possible renewals.
