Lenox Square restaurant passes re-inspection, but roaches still noted

Georgia has rules it requires every food service operation to follow. These are just a few of the many health and safety regulations. Food service operations without a permit are illegal. Employees must know how to prevent foodborne illness and the symptoms of those illnesses. Food must be kept at the correct temperatures to prevent pathogens from growing. Employees must meet standards of cleanliness while working around food. If health laws are not met, the food service's permit may be suspended.

UPDATE: Wokdragon passed a Tuesday morning re-inspection with a 90/A. The report noted violations including debris buildup on equipment and evidence of dead and live cockroaches inside the kitchen facility.

The facility provided five pest control service reports since Nov. 16 and is "now receiving weekly pest control services," according to the report.

ORIGINAL (Nov. 16): A Chinese restaurant in Lenox Square mall failed a recent health inspection, Fulton County records show.

WokDragon scored a 63/U following the Wednesday evaluation. Scores below 70 are considered failing.

According to the report, an inspector observed an “oily odor associated with roaches” and saw live and dead roaches. Officials also reported foods held at potentially hazardous temperatures and a build-up of grease and food debris on equipment and other surfaces.

A statement from Lenox Square management said the mall is “committed to providing a safe, clean shopping environment for all of our guests and employees.”

“ The eateries at the center are inspected monthly by the health department, and ratings are reported to the management office,” the statement said. “We are working closely with the restaurant operator to ensure the next health inspection score is back up to the center’s standards and expectations.”

The location’s prior score, from March, was a 98/A.
