Metro Atlanta colleges delay opening Tuesday

Several north Georgia colleges and universities are delaying opening until 10 a.m. on Tuesday because of the possibility of black ice and hazardous road conditions.

The list includes:

  • Clark Atlanta University
  • Dalton State College
  • Emory University
  • Georgia Gwinnett College
  • Georgia Highlands College
  • Georgia State University
  • Georgia Tech
  • Kennesaw State University
  • Mercer University's Atlanta campus
  • Morehouse College
  • Morehouse School of Medicine
  • Reinhardt University
  • Spelman College
  • Technical College System of Georgia campuses located north of I-20.
  • University of Georgia
  • University of North Georgia

Gov. Nathan Deal has ordered all state government offices to delay opening until that time and metro Atlanta's largest school districts have followed the call.
