A woman was sentenced to life in prison without parole Friday for the stabbing death of a Forsyth County man in his home.

Tonya Jane Tidwell, 34, was convicted Tuesday of malice murder, felony murder and aggravated battery in the death of David Eric Guice in December 2016, District Attorney Penny Penn said.

Penn earlier told AJC.com that prosecutors planned to seek a sentence of life without parole.

Tidwell and two other people went to Guice’s home on Odyssey Trail about stolen property, according to the prosecution’s closing arguments. They attacked him in his sleep with knives and blunt objects after smoking methamphetamine  and marijuana.

Ryan Lee Spark, 30, and Jimmy Lee Winkles, 24, pleaded guilty to murder charges and testified for the prosecution in Tidwell’s trial.
