Keenan Carter, an aspiring actor, was killed in the city of South Fulton last week, police confirmed.

An aspiring actor from metro Atlanta was killed in the city of South Fulton last week.

Keenan Carter, 33, of College Park, was found dead Oct. 3 in the area of Connell Road and White Tail Lane. South Fulton police are investigating the man’s death as a homicide, spokeswoman Ashley Minter-Osanyinbi told AJC.com. However, authorities are not releasing any further details because the death is still under investigation, she said.

Carter graduated from Westlake High School and Columbus State University before moving out west to pursue an acting career in Los Angeles, according to his Facebook page. He was in metro Atlanta to pursue other acting projects.

Carter's parents have set up a GoFundMe page to help with expenses for his funeral, which will be held at 11 a.m. at Jackson Memorial Baptist Church.

“Keenan was well known as an aspiring actor, and will be missed by all that he touched around the world,” his father, Nivens Carter, said on the fundraising page. “If you knew him you knew his smile and a person full of creativity.”

The campaign had raised nearly half of its $6,000 goal as of Wednesday.

Police have not identified a suspect in Carter’s death, according to Minter-Osanyinbi.
