Heart is back after a three-year hiatus for a 39-city summer tour dubbed “Love Alive.”
The Rock & Roll Hall of Famers will play Ameris Bank Amphitheatre in Alpharetta - formerly Verizon Amphihteatre – at 7 p.m. Aug. 19 with new Grammy darling Brandi Carlile and Elle King opening (Joan Jett & The Blackhearts and Sheryl Crow join Heart for other tour dates).
Tickets for the show, priced at $29.50-$350, will go on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 15 via www.livenation.com. A pre-sale for Citi cardholders will take place from 10 a.m. Feb. 13-10 p.m. Feb. 14 through www.citiprivatepass.com.
Ann and Nancy Wilson last played Atlanta in 2016 for a show at Chastain Park Amphitheatre. Serious family issues occurred during that "Rock Hall Three for All" run and the sisters completed the tour with many thinking it would be their last.
Ann Wilson played two solo dates in Atlanta since then – most recently in August at Chastain with Paul Rodgers and Jeff Beck – while Nancy Wilson embarked on the side project Roadcase Royale, with New Power Generation's Liv Warfield. The band's 2017 tour opening for Bob Seger was scrapped when Seger canceled the dates due to a health emergency.
In a June 2017 interview with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Ann Wilson indicated that she and Nancy were already reconciling.
“The family strife thing is long past. It resonated longer in the press than it needed to. Nancy and I are on an artistic walkabout now,” she said.
